Yoga Note Salvation Army Kroc CHAIR YOGA 1-18-18

“This, too, shall pass.” Proverb from the medieval Levent (Persian, Hebrew and Turkey) around 1200 AD

“It’ll pass, cuz it wasn’t meant to stay.” Proverb from North Philly around 2018

Weather is clear, bright and cold 33 degrees, 16 people in attendance, eldest was Katherine who shared that she is 81 years young.

I was gifted two beautiful copper mugs, because I love my Copper Vessel SO MUCH. I bought mine from Rastogi Handicrafts in India through Amazon. It was $35

Chair yoga poses are very restorative for those who have limited movement or balance issues. Here’s a link to a video that uses many of the chair yoga poses I share in class.

We discussed acupressure and reflexology. There are major points in the feet, face, ears and hands. It’s self massage that is efficient and effective.

After class one student shared that her thigh went into a spasm when she did the dancer’s pose.  It happened to one leg and not the other. I asked if she had and injury and she said she injured the back of her knee in a spin class (yikes) 10 years ago and had been a lifelong cyclist.

Here are some yoga poses for after cycling or spin classes

I also got a recipe for Mac and Cheese which I will most generously share with you.

“3 sticks extra sharp cheddar cheese, 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cup condensed milk, pipette pasta, salt and pepper. Put it in the oven and you got your mac and cheese.”

NAMASTE
